MoltBinder Bind

MOLT

Model Optimization & Limit Throttling

Shed your limits.

Stop being rate limited. Works with Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Mistral, Groq โ€” detects your setup and builds the optimal fallback chain from what you actually have configured.

What You Get

Two problems solved. One install. 30 seconds.

๐Ÿ”
Provider Auto-Detection
Reads your existing config and detects which providers you have โ€” Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Mistral, Groq. Builds your fallback chain from what you actually have. Never assumes.
โ†’ Works with your setup, not against it
๐Ÿ”
Smart Fallback Chain
Fast tier first. Cross-provider if available. Powerful model as last resort. Your agent automatically reroutes when rate limited โ€” never stops working regardless of provider.
โ†’ Never blocked again
๐Ÿง
Tiered Model Escalation
Fast/cheap for minimal tasks. Standard for everything else. Powerful only when complexity demands it. Applies to whichever provider you use โ€” Haiku, GPT-4o-mini, Flash, or Mistral-small.
โ†’ ~80% cost reduction
๐Ÿ“ฆ
100K Token Context Cap
Oversized sessions are the #1 cause of self-inflicted rate limits. Hard cap stops your agent bloating into throttle territory.
โ†’ Stays under the limit automatically
๐Ÿงน
Auto-Compaction at 30%
When context hits 30% of the window, old history is archived. Agent stays lean and fast. Lean sessions = fewer rate limits.
โ†’ Faster responses, lower burn
โšก
30K Char Bootstrap Limit
Startup context capped at 30K chars. Your agent wakes up fast and costs less on the first call of every session.
โ†’ Instant cold start
๐Ÿ’พ
Auto Config Backup
Timestamped backup of your openclaw.json created before any change. One command to restore everything exactly as it was.
โ†’ 100% reversible

Two Problems. One Bind.

Previously these were separate binds. MOLT replaces both.

โšก Rate Limit Problem

  • Requests stop going through mid-task
  • No fallback โ€” agent just fails
  • Context bloat triggers throttling
  • Sessions too large to start cleanly

๐Ÿ’ฐ Cost Problem

  • Using Opus for routine tasks
  • No escalation logic โ€” one model for everything
  • Token burn from oversized context
  • Startup loading expensive workspace files
MOLT solves all 8 of these in one config patch. They're the same root cause โ€” unoptimized model usage.

โš™๏ธ One-Command Install

Security Certification
Certified Safe by FULKDefense
Audit Score: 9.5 / 10
FULKDefense โ€” the autonomous AI security agency โ€” conducted a full audit of the MOLT Bind installer before publish. Every line reviewed for credential leaks, network calls, injection risks, and destructive behavior. This script makes zero outbound connections. It runs entirely on your machine, touches only one file, and phones home to nobody.
๐Ÿšซ No internet calls during install
๐Ÿ”’ Auth & API keys never read or touched
๐Ÿ“‚ Only modifies openclaw.json
๐Ÿ’พ Full timestamped backup before any change

FAQ

What does MOLT stand for?
Model Optimization & Limit Throttling. Like a crustacean molting its shell โ€” you shed the old limits and emerge more capable.
This replaces both Rate Limit Reduction and Model Efficiency Binds?
Yes. MOLT is the combined, upgraded version of both. It solves rate limiting (reactive) and cost inefficiency (proactive) in one install. Both old pages redirect here.
Will this change my primary model?
No. MOLT only sets the fallback chain โ€” what to use when your primary gets rate limited. Your primary model stays whatever you have configured (usually Sonnet).
What if I already customized my fallbacks?
MOLT only sets fallbacks if none exist. If you already have a fallback chain configured, it leaves yours alone and only applies the context limits and compaction settings.
How much will I actually save?
Depends on your current setup. If you're running Opus for everything, ~80% savings switching to Sonnet-default. Context compaction alone cuts token burn by 30-50% on long sessions.
Can I undo this?
Yes. The installer creates a backup at openclaw.json.molt-backup.TIMESTAMP. Restore anytime: cp openclaw.json.molt-backup.* openclaw.json
